I recently bought a Raspi4 to play around with and learn some basics of Linux and what not. I spent all day yesterday messing with it on its own. I had a keyboard, monitor and mouse hooked up to it. It connected to my WiFi just fine and I was able to play around with the cli.
I decided I wanted to use it remotely from my desktop so that I could watch tutorials and work on it without having to move my keyboard between the Raspi4 and my PC.
After a lot of digging around and frustration I was able to remotely access the terminal on the pi using both puTTy and Mobaxterm through ssh. I used the remote access to install xrdp, vncserver, and run updates all through my wifi. There is no physical connection between my PC and the pi which is how I want it.
The problem is that I would like to be able to see the desktop gui that the pi has but nothing seems to be able to connect. Ive tried the windows 10 Remote Desktop app, mobaxterm, and VNCViewer. All of them say they cannot connect to the pi.
Ive used ufw to make sure that both the ssh and vnc ports are open, ive triple checked my passwords and user names, ive updated xrdp and the clients on my PC. I know the IP is correct because I can access the terminal of the pi. Im not sure what else to check or what to google at this point.
Any Advice? Im happy to answer question but be warned, I have almost no idea what Im doing. I just want to be able to remote into the pi from my PC and see the desktop gui without having to have cables running all over my office.
